SMTP validates credentials by testing email sending capability.

What is SMTP?

SMTP is the protocol used for sending emails. Krantz Mail uses SMTP AUTH to verify credentials can authenticate for sending.

When to Use

SMTP validation is useful when:

• You need to verify sending capability
• IMAP/POP3 are blocked but SMTP is available

Limitations

Unlike IMAP and POP3, SMTP:

• Cannot read emails
• Cannot access mailbox contents
• Only validates authentication
