ABV Protocol

ABV validates credentials for Bulgarian email provider ABV.bg using their web mail interface.

What is ABV?

ABV.bg is one of the largest email providers in Bulgaria. Unlike standard IMAP/POP3, ABV uses a proprietary GWT-RPC (Google Web Toolkit) web protocol for authentication and mailbox access.

Krantz Mail connects directly to ABV’s web mail API, bypassing the need for IMAP or POP3 servers.

Supported Domains

The ABV protocol is automatically selected for these domains:

  • abv.bg
  • gbg.bg
  • gyuvetch.bg

No manual configuration is needed — Krantz Mail detects these domains and routes them through the ABV protocol automatically.

Limitations

  • No mail viewer support — the viewer tab does not work with ABV accounts. Use IMAP as a fallback if you need the viewer.
  • No profile extraction — ABV does not expose profile data through its web API.
  • Bulgarian service only — only the three domains listed above use this protocol.
