POP3 Protocol
POP3 (Post Office Protocol version 3) is a fallback protocol when IMAP is unavailable.
Overview
POP3 is an older email protocol. Krantz Mail uses it as a fallback when IMAP isn’t available.
When POP3 is Used
POP3 activates as a fallback when:
- IMAP connection fails
- Server doesn’t support IMAP
Limitations
POP3 has some limitations compared to IMAP:
- No folder access (inbox only)
- No email viewing capabilities
- Authentication-only checks
Recommendation
Keep POP3 enabled for maximum compatibility.
